I cannot believe it was almost the middle of January since the last News Letter. :(
Time just flies by when you are busy, and I have never been as busy as I am now.
I have had no time to get to customer projects, :( which I really need to finish. I know this has got to be very annoying to you and I am sorry for such a long delay. I have not forgotten you and I am looking for help to get these projects finished.

We have added a new page to website for TOOLS. We did have some on the website before, but no one really knew they were there, so now a page is dedicated to them, and we will be adding more as we go along. The selection is based on my own personal likes for particular tools, and customer recommendations. We want only to have good quality tools on the site.

I Barely have any time to watch any racing even. But I did like the first couple of races of F1 this year.
Since my very quick, spur of the moment, trip to CA. I have put my back out, and I am in a lot of pain again and restricted movement. :( But do have lots of News and some decent pain killers. ;)

To all our customers in Brazil: I do not know what is going on between the USA and Brazil, or in Brazil with regards to mail. I can tell you that we have had confirmation from customers that packages are taking 3 plus months to arrive, but they are arriving. Some of that time is due the the US customs, not clearing the shipments in a timely manner, but we can do nothing once the packages are in the hands of the Postal service. Also, because most of you want a very low declared value on items, because of the duty Brazil customs like to charge, you cannot ask us to replace an item that goes missing with out financial consideration from yourselves.

I do want to clarify a point on ordering, especially as we are so busy; by all means phone in your order, but we need you to confirm it in writing in the form of an email to orders@macsmodeling.com, this will prevent misplaced orders.
Alan is here 3 days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday usually between 9am and 12 noon. Arizona time. It is hard to say when I'm in the office, except late in the day and on Sunday's.

Apparently, some of you cannot download the Excel Order form. Don't worry if you can't, just send your email order with what you want in the body of the email.

One last note: If you receive an email that says you owe xxxxxxJPY (an amount in Japanese Yen) please pay in JPY, NOT US Dollars. It costs me money to change it to JPY.
If you want to pay in US Dollars email me and I will give you an amount to pay in US dollars

Model News

: We have been shipping the "inlet manifolds" with operational throttle slides for 1:12 Ford DFV engines AZMP DFV-1204 for the last week and still shipping them out.
I have tried to find time to put a set of these together, but just have not had the time.

The masters for the vac-formed windscreens have been completed and the "bucks" now have to be produced. Also the 2 styles of rear wing masters, have been modified so molds can be made this weekend, the same for the wing uprights

We are still working on price and release dates for the 4 wheel sets and brake sets for the 1:12 Tamiya kits. The New plan is the MP4/6 wheels first, followed by wheel and axle set for the Ferrari 312T4, which we did not announce before AZMW12006.

A lot of casting has been going on trying to keep up and catch up with the current orders.

Shortly there will be a 1:20 version of the M23 airbox, as used in 1975 and early 76.

: VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: THE INFORMATION BELOW IS ONLY FOR MAC'S MODELING COMMUNITY, THIS IS NOT INFORMATION FOR PUBLIC FORUMS!! I screwed up by not saying this, but I now know I have to. DON'T DO IT! Thank you!
Have been very busy producing new kits in 1:12 and 1:43, most I think are listed on the Pre-Order page, along with the new series of book from them "Pilots" (Drivers).
We have finally received a complete list of Ferrari F1 models available in 1:20 and 1:24, also Ferrari Sports cars in 1:24, right now the website reflects the current status. We have also been informed that they will produce some more of the 312 F1~ K272, K273 and K274, 312B3 ~ K302 and K303, and 312B ~ K304 and K305, in very limited numbers, so order the version you want now.
Also they have made available the Ferrari GT 250 Berlinetta, and are available now, K290 and K291. I know some of you tried ordering these when they were sold out. If you want one of these versions please order them now and we will have them on our April order for you.

You should know the system now, but just in case you don't..........send your order via email to orders@macsmodeling.com with MFH in the subject line, and what you would like in the body of the email, or attach a completed order form.

Cancelled the 1:20 McLaren MP4/2, Monaco version.

Have released the 3rd book in the series: KOM-UDG003 covering the Lotus 79. They come in A5 size which is approx. 5.75" x 8.25" and have 80 to 90 pages. For the details on these check out the Pre-Order page page. If you would like this volume, send your order to orders@macsmodeling.com and put "Komakai" in the subject line, and what you would like in the body of the email. If you would like to subscribe to these, please say so in the same email. Thank you!

: Well Mac's Modeling's relationship with them is growing nicely. I had a meeting with Naoto Sakakibara, (the main representative for them. He also worked for Rainbow 10 for 12 years prior to joining Aoshima) in Los Angeles on Sunday 6th, over lunch.
He explained that they are quite unhappy with HLJ, and as a way around the problems with them, we, "Mac's Modeling" will receive kit releases before the Japanese markets, they will be especially for the USA/Foreign markets and will also have some extra items in the kits that the Japanese will not get. That is a first for the USA! :)
The new McLaren F1 GTR long tails should be arriving next week, if you missed out on the pre-orders, we will have some in stock, so you can still order. These are the start of the kits with something extra in, that the Japanese market does not get.
He reiterated Aoshima really wants to get into the American market and wanted/wants to know what would be good sellers here. I suggested 1:12 scale World Superbikes, 1:20 earlier F1 cars that have not been produced in plastic. 1:24 WRC cars and LeMans cars, especially now Porsche are back. Basically full detail kits with engines that can be detailed further.
I asked him about the size of the company: In their research, design, sales, marketing and management the total is 61 employees. However, they have another building where they package, store and ship kits from; there are 100 employees there.
I know some of you are members of the IPMS, so if you would get in touch with the chairman of your chapter, and suggest a pole of what your groups would like to see produced, and then have them email me the results to iamf1@macsmodeling.com with Aoshima in the subject line, I will pass that information along to Naoto. Alternatively, just have the Chairman of each club send an email to that address and I will pass the addresses on to Naoto.

: I also asked Naoto about Beemax and the relationship with Aoshima. BEEMAX is owned by a man that has a Casino in Macau, so has a lot of expendable funds, he wanted to do something in models and contacted Aoshima.
He tells  Aoshima what subjects he would like to produce, and they do all the research, design, manufacture and packaging, which BEEMAX pays them for. The McLaren MP4/2 although delayed WILL be produced and available nearer to Christmas. The MP4/2B and C will also become a reality, but I do not know if they will be purely Aoshima or Aoshima/Beemax models at this moment.

: Still no news yet.

REFERENCE MATERIAL:
We are always adding more reference material. Check out the Ref Material page  If you have not had a look lately, have a good look through the list, you just may find something you "must have". ;) If you have any suggestions for material, let us know

You will notice I keep mentioning sending orders to orders@macsmodeling.com with different titles in the Subject line. I REALLY want you to follow these instructions, PLEASE!

I have created "filters" in the orders@macsmodeling.com so the emails will go into the correct folder for Manufacturers etc. That way I know where to look for orders for different manufacturers, rather than having to go through every email to find your order. You can still use the order form, but most important is you put the Manufacturer in the subject line. If you have something you want from multiple Manufacturers, just put "Multiple Order" in the subject line, fill out and attach the Excel Order Form. If you cannot download the order form, just put what you want in the body of the email. I hope that is clear......................probably as mud. ;)

Tameo and This Way Up are the exceptions: Because Tameo, on their website, have Tameo@macsmodeling.com as a way to contact me for customers, any Tameo items should be ordered there. And This Way Up orders should be sent to TWU@macsmodeling.com

Thank you, ahead of time, for your efforts in doing this.
